What We Collect

Email you send us. If you write to us, we receive what you include and use it to reply.

Email signups. If you sign up for email from the screener, Navigator Pulse, or the deadline box, we store your email address and the details about your operation you entered there, such as your state or county, operation type and size, and your screener answers. We use them to send email that fits your operation. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Anonymous usage records. When you use the screener or Navigator Pulse, the Site records things like the state or county, operation type, and which programs were shown. These records do not include your name or email address and do not use cookies. We use them to improve the tools.

Analytics and server logs. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and reports aggregate page views. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

Stored on Your Device

Navigator Pulse settings and in-progress screener answers are saved in your browser's local storage. If you subscribe, your browser also keeps your email address and a link for managing your subscription. You can clear this in your browser settings; that does not unsubscribe you.

Service Providers

We use these services to run the Site: Netlify (hosting), Cloudflare (analytics), Supabase (database for signups and usage records), Resend (email delivery), and Google Fonts (typefaces). Navigator Pulse also loads public weather, drought, water, and market data (NOAA, USGS, USDM, CME Group) directly from your browser.

Do Not Track

The Site does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

Children

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Other Sites

We link to USDA and other external sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new date.
